Our team driver âśGary Huangâť joined 1/8 Nitro On-Road Cars class at Tom Racing Circuit track in Hong Kong. The main purpose of this race was to test the body for the preparation of Xiamen Grand Prix. At the first day, Gary arrived the track with his mechanic âśGavin Kwokâť, they have tested the difference between PF R18 and R19 on various positions. They found that R19 is more suitable for Gary becuase the gripping was enhanced, more steering and the single lap time has been faster significantly.

The diameter of the tires and the gear ratio were same as the last race. But due to the high grip force, it was necessary to apply the rear tires with diameter âś72 mmâť and to change the gear ratio from 59 to 58, from 54 to 53 at this race.
On the 2nd day, they tested the set-up at the rear part, the roll center of the suspension holder. Provided the width of the car remains unchanged, they moved the suspension holder downward and towards inside, equal to the extension of the length of the suspension arm. Moreover, the shim of the HUB has been changed from 2 mm to 1 mm. After these two modifications were done, the gripping at the rear part has been increased, it was fit for Garyâ™s driving style.

There was a delay because of rain, every class was shortened from three rounds to two rounds in the preliminary. GARY won the 1st place in these two rounds, he ran into the final with TQ. In the Final, GARYâ™s car ran very smooth and kept the 1st place from the beginning to the end of the race, always kept distance from the 2nd place by approx. 14 seconds. Undoubtedly, he got the championship and kept ahead from the 2nd place by 3 laps.
